When I connect an HDMI cable from the BR player to the adapter, it is also giving the same black screen.. The HDMI to YPbPr adapter actually works just fine on my Panasonic Plasma  This is why I am thinking that it is probably an HDCP issue.. With the BR player, it works fine in 1080i when it is straight YPbPr from the player to the TV. HERE
